About FIRTECH
FIRTECH is a Greek brand of FIR bio-ceramic textiles, which has been developed and produced since 2008. Since 2026, Pellumbi Distribution has been the exclusive distribution partner for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).
Who is behind FIRTECH?
The manufacturer of the FIRTECH product line is MMK based in Athens, Greece, under the management of Markellos Krouskos. MMK develops and produces the FIRTECH textiles in accordance with ISO 13485 quality standards for medical devices.
What does FIRTECH do?
FIRTECH bandages and textiles are made of ceramic fibres that absorb your own body heat and return it to the skin as gentle, long-wave infrared warmth (6–14 µm) – entirely without electricity, without batteries and without chemicals. This effect is purely passive: the material merely reflects and amplifies the warmth that the body produces itself.
Combined with the light compression of the material, this creates a pleasant, long-lasting feeling of warmth that many people find beneficial in everyday life, during exertion or after sport.
What is the material made of?
The FIR-emitting ceramic fibres contain, among other things, tourmaline as well as magnesium and silicon oxides – minerals known for their ability to absorb heat and release it again as infrared radiation. These fibres are firmly worked into the fabric and remain effective even after washing at 30 °C.
What is the scientific basis?
FIR-emitting ceramic textiles such as FIRTECH belong to the material category of type 2 FIR textiles, as described in a scientific review article (ScienceDirect, 2024). This category also includes clinically studied FIR pads and patches. The review confirms that such materials passively absorb body heat and return it as infrared radiation in the wavelength range of 6–14 µm, with the surface temperature of the skin typically remaining below 40 °C (realistic range: 38–39 °C).
